{"id":1495,"date":"2014-08-13T20:49:51","date_gmt":"2014-08-14T04:49:51","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.chrisrivard.com\/?p=1495"},"modified":"2014-08-13T20:49:51","modified_gmt":"2014-08-14T04:49:51","slug":"human","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.chrisrivard.com\/blog\/human\/","title":{"rendered":"Human"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.strava.com\/activities\/179877303\" target=\"_blank\">http:\/\/www.strava.com\/activities\/179877303<\/a><\/p>\n<p>There are only a handful of activities\u00a0that present\u00a0our human nature in stark relief\u00a0and a run through the forest is near the top of the list. \u00a0In an increasingly frenetic world, it&#8217;s one of only things that makes me feel human after staring at a computer most of the day.<\/p>\n<p>I left late in the day\u00a0as a result of a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=rlQKrwhqyDg&amp;list=PLF4446F498296D2C3&amp;index=8\" target=\"_blank\">busy schedule<\/a> and\u00a0planned to do an easy \/short loop to Washington Park.<\/p>\n<p>It ultimately turned into a tempo run as I bounded down the trail shirtless scaring tourists taking pictures in the Japanese Garden thinking, &#8220;what the fuck could you possibly be taking pictures of and will you ever look at them again ?? &#8212; probably not. Ever.&#8221; There is a massive industry in the storage of bits that we will never look at\u00a0again.<\/p>\n<p>If you record every experience you have &#8211; \u00a0are you fully experiencing it, or partially experiencing it so that you can partially relive it through pictures in the future?<\/p>\n<p>GoPro culture. I think the backlash will be an aspiration to anonymity. Famously (un)famous.\u00a0We&#8217;ve become a culture of neurotic digital pack rats.<\/p>\n<p>Except my little bro.
